Jhonattan Vegas, Chris Kirk, Zach Johnson Payout Odds to Win 2025 Masters
Two of the three early leaderboard contenders at this year's Masters were not even listed among the odds while Chris Kirk promised a payout of $12,500 for every $100 bet at BetUS. Remember that odds are updated and can be bet between each round (day of play).
Jhonattan Vegas sat atop the leaderboard as part of a 6-way tie early Thursday. Whether that was going to last remained to be seen.
BetUS did not list odds for Vegas. This marks the Venezuelan's fourth Masters appearance and first since 2018.
Last July, he won in Minnesota by one stroke over Max Greyserman for his fourth career PGA Tour win and first in seven years. He won the Canadian Open in consecutive years in 2016 and 2017 and when he won in La Quinta in 2011, he became Venezuela's first winner on the PGA Tour. He has represented his country in both the Olympics and Presidents Cup.
Also not listed among the early Masters odds to win this year, Zach Johnson. He's part of the 6-way tie at the top Thursday morning.
Johnson claims the Augusta National is by far the most predictable course he and the rest of the PGA Tour players compete at each year, the results never are.
“That’s the game of golf,” he said. “The moment you think you have it, the weight of it can come down on you.”
Johnson's exclusion from the odds is head scratching as he enjoyed a victory at Augusta National with a score of one-over-par 289, a feat that tied the highest winning total ever. Johnson also won the Open Championship in 2015.
A few books had him at +75000 odds for a payout potential of $75000 on a $100 bet.
Kirk offered the most lucrative payout of the bunch.
Kirk has posted a Strokes Gained: Off-the-Tee average of 0.169 (70th) this season, while his average Driving Distance of 298.2 yards ranks 110th on TOUR.
This marks his 6th Masters start. He has top-25 finishes at Augusta National in each of the past two years and his third-round 68 last year was the low score of the day.
